My first destination wedding… um, kinda.
My dear friend (and photographer!) Jayme, was the lead photographer for this wedding, and she asked me to come along and co-shoot with her. The catch? The wedding was in Kansas City, MO, which is an 8 hour drive. The bigger catch? Jayme is also the mother of an infant. Eight hours in the car with a tiny baby? Are we nuts?
Of course we are!
She also asked another friend (and co-worker of mine) to come along to help with the baby, so us three girls (four if you count the baby) piled into the car and made a weekend out of it. Despite a cranky passenger for part of the way – not me, I promise – and being caught in the middle of the Wolcott Trucker’s Jamboree at the I-80 truck stop, we made it! The wedding was a blast, with lots of fun pictures and giggles. Sarah and Jared are an adorable couple, and were SO relaxed on their wedding day.
Don’t forget to check out Jayme’s side of things on her blog here! Leave her a note too. She likes those!

(Their wedding colors were black, hot pink, bright orange, and baby blue. How cool is that?)

(Sarah & Jared had a bowl where people could leave them a note. Sarah, a teacher, had a lot of blessings from her students that attended)

(Super cute favors!)

(Despite not having dancing at the reception, they still managed to work in a first dance!)
Side note: I used my “Light Pop” action on the majority of these – download it here.

They look amazing Tasha. I can imagine the crazy trip. Nice you had lots of fun shooting. I have been thinking in doing a course to try to shoot some weddings. The responsability of shooting one scares me to death.
Thanks Solange. The responsibility is scary, but it’s fun. Concert shooting helps a lot, because you’re used to fast paced stuff in ever changing, horrible light.
