Hi, and welcome to my blog. My name is Tasha Schalk, and I am the photographer/owner of Redwall Photo. This blog is where I will post photos from my shoots and daily life, as well as recommendations for vendors and some tips for photographers. Stick around a while and get to know me. I'm fun.

As always, feel free to contact me at tasha@redwallphotography.com or 708.717.2811 if you have any questions, would just like to chat, or would like to book a consult. I'm located in the Chicago area, but do occasionally travel!

  • I kind of want to take them home with me, they're so cute

    Engagement :: Mandy & Dan

    We’ve been having unseasonably cold weather this season in Chicago, and the day of the shoot was freezing! Aside from it being cold, we were right next to the lake, so we got a good dosing of that wind that Chicago is so famous for.  It was a cloudy day, which was a little disappointing (we were hoping for some golden light), but at least it wasn’t raining or snowing, which was in the forecast.  All in all, I say that we lucked out!

    For this shoot, Mandy picked Millennium Park as their backdrop, which was great. I’ve spent some time taking pictures around the Park, but have never done an engagement shoot there – and what an epic background! It was a challenge to keep random people out of the frame, but I think we got some great shots where it looks like they’re the only two around. If these two are so great in front of the camera during a freezing cold day amongst a thousand or so strangers, I can’t wait to see how much fun they’re going to be at their wedding!

      I saw on Flickr where you got yelled at, but I’d rather yell at you for taking pictures in the middle of the avenue (is that Michigan Ave?) ;-)

      Beautiful pictures, all of them!

    5. Tasha says:

      Thanks Mike :) And yeah, it was Michigan – but we were on a barrier, not in the middle of traffic, so it wasn’t as bad as it looks, haha.
