For today’s Casual Friday entry, I thought I’d share what I do when I’m not taking pictures of weddings, engagements, portraits, or concerts… or when I’m not editing those pictures… or when I’m not consulting with clients.
During the day, I work at a small university in the suburbs of Chicago as the staff photographer for the school. I take pictures of everything at work – portraits, events, sports, theater, candids, still life, etc., etc. Some days I’ll do a mix of all of them. Every day is different. I love that I’ve been exposed to so many different types of photography and have to practice them on a daily basis. I feel that it definitely sets me apart from other photographers, and has helped me develop a style of shooting that fits any situation. In fact, tomorrow I will be shooting our Homecoming game, as well as a book signing event beforehand, the tailgating that is a must have for any Homecoming, the pep band, and the crowd. It’s going to be a busy 5 hours.
So, I leave you with just a glimpse into some of my recent work for the university, I’m sure I’ll share more of it at a later date!

This was so much fun to shoot, even if I was laying on the wet ground.

Students and faculty doing a service project for Feed Our Starving Children. Check it out, it’s a good cause.

A few recent covers that I’ve shot for our quarterly magazine that is distributed to alumni and prospective students.
