Winter in Chicago can be completely uninspiring photographically-wise… the days end early, the weather is always overcast, the snow becomes gray and dirty within 24 hours of falling, and the temperature is often crippling. Imagine how excited I was yesterday when I saw gorgeous light streaming in through the window at work. Sunshine! And window light, my favorite type of light!
I quickly grabbed my camera (which happened to be fitted with my 50mm lens, perfect!) and took some pictures of the random vase and fake flowers that happened to be there. Very impromptu, slightly random, but it was beautiful sunshine! It made my morning, to say the least.
So, please, enjoy these almost springlike photos – especially if you’re located in a frigid climate.

Awww gorgeous! It’s -18 celsius here, but sunny too… your pictures made me day nicer
