About Redwall Photo

A few days ago, I posted a teaser on my Facebook page about how there was going to be big news about one of my photos soon… as you can see, this old favorite photo of mine is being turned into a book cover! It’s always rewarding to be published – to have someone else think your photos are good enough to share – but it’s absolutely mind boggling when an author sees your work as such a large part of the visual representation of their novel. Once I learned what the book was about, I could totally see how perfect Lost In You‘s story and my photo meshed, even though they were created years apart. I love when that happens. It’s creative fate.

A quick synopsis of the book so you can see what I’m talking about:

Ryan Stone is a less than average teenager. He doesn’t have fancy clothes. He doesn’t carry around the latest smartphone and he definitely doesn’t have an MP3 player. Instead, he goes to school, does his chores and dreams of a new life away from Brookfield where he’s expected to follow in his blue collar family’s footsteps.

Hadley Carter is America’s Pop Princess. A successful recording artist living her dream with a sold-out tour and a handful of Grammy’s there isn’t much that she wants for, except love. But finding love on the road is near impossible when all she longs for are romantic dinners, a nighttime stroll on the beach and holding hands with someone who isn’t going to exploit her.

When a chance encounter introduces Ryan to Hadley, will he be like her adoring fans looking for a way in, or will it be Hadley who pursues Ryan even though it might cost her the only career she’s ever known.

Lost in You is a story about following your dreams, taking risks and getting lost in love.

So excited to read Lost In You when it comes out on May 1st.  Make sure to either follow me or Heidi McLaughlin on Facebook for more details about release info.

And lastly, big thanks to author Heidi (who is the sweetest), and to designer Sarah… and of course, to Cassie and Jimmy (or at least their legs), for making this shot possible. I’d also like to thank the Academy… oh, wait…

And the original, from 3 1/2 years ago:

I hardly ever blog about when I’m published, but I’ve had a bunch of fun weddings and photos posted online and in print lately! I have a few more things in the works, too, so there might be another post like this in the near future!

Jill & Adam’s Merch Mart wedding was up on Style Me Pretty IL just last week:

I’m not sure that I ever blogged these photos, but Ocala Style magazine featured a 50s themed bridal shower I worked on with some talented local vendors:

Lauren & Matt’s River East Art Center wedding was featured in Milestones Mag, put together Magnificent Milestones. Lauren and Matt were so awesome, they even graced the front cover!

I’m sure you all know about Ethereal Confections. They make utterly amazing chocolate, and are pretty awesome ladies as well. I am lucky enough to shoot their products every so often, and you can see some of my photos on their website. I highly recommend visiting it, and then ordering some chocolate. Obviously.

Misse Daniel of Honeybee Weddings blogged about Jessica & JT’s Galleria Marchetti wedding:

And last, for now, are a few small photos in a local Chicago magazine:

So excited to be able to finally announce this! About a month ago, I got together with some fabulous people (Cynthia Sally, Kio Kreations, and RBK Creations) for a winter wonderland bridal shoot. We shot at the absolutely magnificent Armour House, had a little snow on the ground, the the rest was history. I’ll be posting a blog post later today with all the photos, but for now, go check it out on Style Me Pretty!
